Three questions for Elke Harreiss about the European Heat Pump Summit 2023
Three months before the start of the 2023 Summit, Exhibition Director Elke Harreiss from NürnbergMesse talks about all the event highlights and the preparations under way.
The European Heat Pump Summit – powered by Chillventa – is the No. 1 gathering for experts from the international heat pump sector. Every two years, it brings together renowned speakers and international decision-makers from industry, commerce, and the R&D community to enjoy high-level professional dialogue and networking. Three months before the start of the 2023 Summit, Exhibition Director Elke Harreiss from NürnbergMesse talks about all the event highlights and the preparations under way.
Elke Harreiss: We are incredibly pleased with the progress of what will be our eighth international heat pump summit in Nuremberg. Speakers from all around the world have submitted a considerable number of highly topical and extremely interesting abstracts for proposed presentations. The heat pump is a key issue not just in Germany, in the light of the current debate about the draft Buildings Energy Act (GEG), but also worldwide. As a result, there is enormous interest in the Foyer Expo this year and we are already fully booked. Through their participation, well-known exhibitors, associations, organisations and high-calibre experts from the R&D segment underpin the extraordinary position of the European Heat Pump Summit within the heat pump sector.
Elke Harreiss: In 2023, the programme of presentations is subdivided into four large thematic blocks: market developments, research and development, potentials and applications, and product and component development. The programme covers all the topics and questions that are currently of concern to the industry, such as the European heat pump market (“Europe's heat pump market – the numbers, the context, the EU policy”), current developments in high-temperature heat pumps (“Developing, testing and demonstrating a high-temperature heat pump portfolio”), sustainable heat exchangers (“Sustainable heat exchanger technology for commercial and industrial heat pumps)”, and one of the key issues from our current discussions about heating systems in Europe (“Heat pump efficiency in old single-family houses: interim results of large-scale field trial”). The Foyer Expo also addresses these key topics from the conference and allows participants to experience them at first hand at the exhibition. This year, we are once again offering those who regrettably cannot make it to Nuremberg the opportunity to enjoy a live stream of the presentations. As this option proved immensely popular in 2021, we decided to provide it again.
Elke Harreiss: Alongside a first-class programme of presentations, professional expertise at its finest and the latest hot topics, the European Heat Pump Summit 2023 will offer plenty of time for questions, discussions and peer-to-peer networking during the breaks and at the Foyer Expo stands. This year, the Foyer Expo has grown yet again – and as mentioned before is fully booked – and will display even more hands-on exhibits, products and live innovation while offering plenty of opportunities to talk shop. At the end of the first day of the conference, all participants can look forward to the subsequent get-together. In a relaxed atmosphere with no time pressure, they will be able to find new business partners, meet existing contacts, and reflect on the exciting inspiration from the day. I look forward to welcoming you to the European Heat Pump Summit.
